Baxter Ready For Full-Scale Production of A (H1N1) Vaccine.

Baxter has announced on 12th June,2009  that it has completed testing and evaluation of the A (H1N1) influenza virus, and is now in full-scale production stage using its Vero cell culture technology.

Earlier in May, Baxter also received an A (H1N1) strain from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and is working to deliver a pandemic vaccine for use as early as July.

On  2nd October,2009, Baxter has announced that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the EMEA granted its ‘positive opinion’ for CELVAPAN H1N1 pandemic vaccine using Baxter’s Vero cell technology. This positive opinion confirms the acceptability of Baxter’s regulatory submission to obtain final marketing authorisation and licensure of the H1N1 Vaccine.
